Course Scheduling for the 2023-2024 School Year

January 2-6 Teachers complete online course recommendations 

January 4th - 11th: QMS school counselors will host virtual question/answer sessions with 5th graders at our feeder elementary schools.

January 11th: QMS Curriculum Fair Website:  All families are invited to review our Curriculum Fair Website to learn valuable information for selecting courses for next year and planning ahead to programs that are available in high school.

January 12th: We will be hosting our annual Curriculum Fair @ the Q, from 6:00-7:30 PM.  This event is for all rising 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade families.

January 13th: During an extended Advisory in the morning (through 9:30 AM), 6th and 7th graders will review elective offerings for next year, using our curriculum fair website and recorded presentations by school counselors.  During this same timeframe, 8th graders will meet with high school counselors from Freeman, Godwin and Tucker High Schools to learn about the transition to high school and course offerings in 9th grade.

January 16-27: Parents/students can select courses for the 2023-2024 school year in PowerSchool.  School counselors will work with students in learning how to select courses online during these two weeks, and parents/students can make changes through January 27th.  Click here to access directions for selecting courses through PowerSchool.

January 27th: Deadline for parents/students to select courses online

Mid-May: Students and families will be able to review course selections for the 2023-2024 school year one more time before school closes for the summer, to make sure there are no mistakes.

May 26th: Last day students can request an elective class change (requests will only be honored if space remains in the course being requested)
